There was an interesting article in the Globe about communities who don’t have their public water supply fluoridated. There’s a ring around Boston that extends to as far west as Shrewsbury, full of pro-fluoridation towns and cities. Once you hit Worcester, there are only a handful of towns past us that have fluoridated water. (See this excellent map for a visual.)
I doubt the fluoridation situation will change in my lifetime, but if you or anyone you know needs dental care, and don’t have dental insurance (or an uncle who’s a dentist), Quinsigamond Community College runs a dental clinic during the academic year at pretty reasonable rates.
