Yesterday, RadioBoston devoted half an hour to Boston’s low recycling rate (that is, 13% to Worcester’s 43%). Worcester’s pay-as-you throw method was discussed in some depth. Boston is also thinking about implementing single-stream (what we know as zero-sort) recycling.
We often forget about it, especially when we get a roll of extra-thin yellow bags, but recycling is one area where Worcester excels, and continues to be forward-thinking.

If it’s one thing Worcesterites know it’s how to throw things away (especially politicians with our money).
