There was a report in the Telegram about a former pig farm in Auburn and Oxford that is seen as a potential site for a resort casino.
I don’t want to editorialize on this too much, but it’s worth keeping in mind that surrounding communities that might be affected by such a casino have no say in whether a casino would be built in an abutting town. So, Worcester residents (or Charlton residents, or Leicester residents) would have no say if this ever came for a vote.
And if there were ever a proposed casino in Worcester, the whole city would also not be allowed to vote on that proposal. Only residents of the specific ward(s) in which the casino would be located would have that right.
